“A visit to a concentration camp is never an easy or comfortable experience. However, as a retired World History and Holocaust teacher it is a NECESSARY experience especially in current times. To some history is uncomfortable and that is why we need to understand why it is uncomfortable and not repeat it. This visit was so very enlightening due to our incredible guide Ferdinand. His knowledge and insight into the camp seen through the perpetrators and the victims made this a truly and necessary experience. This tour is a must to understand the past and how it relates to the present and NEVER allow to happen again.”

“It was one of many activities which I planed to do on that day (it was my hasbund's B-Day and he likes such quests) it was quite fun and interesting BUT when it was difficult tasks tips which was given was not useful at all! Some historical facts was well known but there was some things which was new for us. Pre last task we still didn't solve and it would be nice if at the end of the sertain amount of time the right answer would come so we could make it till the end.... Not worth it that money unfortunately I would not recommend it to friends. But…”

Her knowledge of Mauthausen and its history was amazing. It was such an emotional visit - but something that was such a huge part of world history. Then it was off to the Eagle’s Nest. She provided more historical facts about the region on our ride there. We had a cloudy day - the peak was actually in the clouds. But it was still stunning!
